Our story
Blue Waters Recovery Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We operate accredited recovery residences in South Florida for people seeking recovery from addiction and alcoholism — with clear expectations, peer support, and long-term phases that grow with each client.
Founder
Blue Waters Recovery Foundation and Sober Living by Tiffany grew from one person’s second chance — and a belief that structured homes, community, and unconditional love can help people rebuild.
As Tiffany Skuraton has shared publicly, she is a person in long-term recovery who once faced addiction and homelessness in South Florida. In a moment of surrender — which she has described as getting on her knees and asking God for help — her life began to change. Early in sobriety she carried a simple dream: someday run a small recovery home for women, offering the accountability and support she had needed herself.
About two and a half years into recovery, as she tells it, an unexpected opportunity opened the door to that first house. She also saw how pairing people in recovery with rescue dogs could offer something rare: love without judgment. In 2015 she founded Blue Waters Dog Rescue alongside the sober-living work that became known as Sober Living by Tiffany. Later that year, she has said, access to additional buildings in Pompano Beach helped the homes grow into a lasting campus for people and dogs alike.
In 2022 the housing mission continued as Blue Waters Recovery Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — still dual-branded with Sober Living by Tiffany. Today Tiffany serves as Founder and CEO: hands-on with direction for the residences, and closely involved with Blue Waters Dog Rescue. The work remains what she dreamed of at the start — structure, second chances, and a place to practice a new life.
Details above are drawn from Tiffany’s publicly shared interviews and organization bios. Specific personal history beyond what she has chosen to publish is left for her to expand.
We proudly partner with Blue Waters Dog Rescue, a separate 501(c)(3). Rescue dogs — often bully breeds — live in our homes while preparing for forever families. People in recovery and dogs in transition give each other something rare: unconditional presence.
Our residences are dog-friendly. Client pets depend on space and assessment — cats, reptiles, and small rodents aren’t part of the program.
