For residents
A peer specialist is someone in long-term recovery who is trained and certified to walk alongside you. They're free for our residents, and they come to you at home.
A peer specialist has been where you are. They've lived through addiction or mental health challenges, built a life in recovery, and been trained to help others do the same. They aren't a therapist, a doctor, or a sponsor. They're a guide and an advocate who understands from experience.

Talk through cravings, stress, setbacks and wins with someone who has been there, without judgment.
Getting an ID, applying for food stamps or Medicaid, finding a doctor, making appointments, and dealing with court or probation requirements. They can help you navigate it and sometimes go with you.
Finding meetings, support groups, wellness activities and people who are building the same kind of life you are.
It's free, and they come to you. Peer specialists from both organizations below visit our residents at home. It's an optional extra layer of support on top of your house requirements, and it can make a real difference in the first months.

A peer-run recovery community organization serving Broward and Miami-Dade. Offers one-on-one peer support, wellness activities, and trainings like Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP).
WestCare Florida's South Florida nonprofit, serving Broward and Miami-Dade. Its peer support specialists help with recovery goals, care coordination, and connection to housing, work and community supports.
